Portlandia!!

We decided a few months ago to do something special for our 1st Anniversary. So we booked a big kid trip to Portland, Oregon!! And it's been a whole bunch of fun!

Things we've done so far:
- Visited a few of Britt's mission friends. Wonderful peeps.
- Met Puff the Magic Dragon (he lives in Molalla)
- Walked around the Portland LDS Temple and new Visitor Center.
- Enjoyed the beautiful scenery.
- Went for a spontaneous 4-5 mile hike to the Triple Falls near Multnomah Falls.
- Checked out lots of cool landmarks, like Bridge of the Gods and Columbia River.
- Ate at Chevy's. Amazing.
- Hung out with Sara and Craig (Britt's sister and brother in law).
- Ate Voodoo Doughnuts.
- Got Henna Tatts and a "Keep Portland Weird" T-shirt at Portland Saturday Market.
- Perused Powells's Books, The Legendary Independent Bookstore.
- Walked down Hawthorne Avenue.

Things we want to do:
- Eat at Pine State Biscuits.
- Go to church in Beaverton.
- Enjoy more green scenery.
- Go to the Saturday Market Fair.

We have had SO much fun, and the perfect getaway trip.
Photos to come :)

Blog Sorrows

Sorry my blog posts have been absent for the last month and a half ish, but I've had some technological difficulties. My Macbook won't stay on, I need to get it fixed, but that means forking out cash, and that's never fun. I can post from Britt's computer (what I am doing currently), but he doesn't have all my awesome photos. I could put photos from recently on his computer, but I just don't trust it.

So that's the story.

As for an Update on our little life:
  • Britt's almost done with the semester! YIPPEE!!
  • We both just recovered from nasty colds. No fun.
  • Haven't been running, but hope to get back on the bandwagon soon.
  • Had some fun last weekend at the festival of colors that EVERYONE went to, and at the Real SLC game.
  • Had some fun this weekend visiting St. George while my brother and his fam are visiting from Texas.
  • We booked our first big trip for our 1st anniversary. We're going to Oregon!
  • Planned out our summer :)
Basically we are lovin' life and each other.

Running Blog

My sisters and I decided to run the St. George Marathon in October. We made a plan and we are going to try to run every day and help motivate each other and stuff. So in order to help motivate myself and for confidence/therapy purposes I suppose, I started a running blog here. The website is called fastrunningblog.com, which is funny because I'm not a fast runner, but whatev. It's cool because you can track your mileage, sleeping, how fast you are and a bunch of other stuff. But I'm just doing the mileage and comments. So it's like a journal that helps me keep track of my running and stay sane all the while. I'm excited and nervous. For extra details, feel free to check out my running blog.

How Sweet . . .

I came home to this very clean kitchen today.
Britt cleaned.
It basically made my day.
It was much messier before
and I was stressed that I didn't have time to clean it earlier.

And he folded me this oragami flower.
I feel so loved.
Isn't my husband the cutest?

I love you Britt.

Taking Christmas Down

It was a lot of fun to have Christmas decorations up this year,
but it was kind of a relief to take them down.
Even though we didn't have much to decorate,
I can understand why my mom is so happy to get things back to normal.

What a helpful husband.
He said he'd rather unfluff than fluff the tree.

I'll be excited to decorate again next year,
but it's nice to have it down and put away.

Ice Activity with the Youth

Recently we had a YM/YW combined activity
at the Peaks Ice Arena and it was a lot of fun!

We played ice broom hockey, but with special sticks, not brooms...
anyway, it was a lot of fun and funny to watch!

Here are a few photos of Britt playing with the big boys:

This photo makes me laugh.
Here is the not so intense, but still extremely talented group.
It was a lot of fun, and a pretty good price... I think.

Oreos?

We went to Walmart the other night for some groceries,
and we like to get the Great Value version of Oreos "Heads or Tails" cookies,
and when we opened the package this is what we discovered...

a cookie was missing.
Lame.
