No patience for poetry

I'm sitting here trying to be creative.
The creative isn't coming.
Also my room is hot.
So I decided to blog instead.
Still don't have much to say.

A happy side note:
My grandma was impressed by my quilt
and sewing skills. Which is a big compliment coming
from her since she is the master seamstress!

Other news:
I dropped my microbiology class and lab and
I'M CHANGING MY MAJOR
probably.
Also only 90 days left! Wahoo!

Peace and Love :)

Beautiful Ally

So this past weekend I was lucky enough to help my BEAUTIFUL sister Ally get ready for Homecoming! It was her first formal dance and I was excited to help and take lots of photos! Here are some for your viewing pleasure!

Gotta love the sick purple Vans! I know I do!
I just love the whole purple ensemble!!

Trimmin' all the straggler threads off.

Isn't the back awesome?!

Here I'm trying to explain how to properly pin the boutonnière on without stabbing your date. It can be tricky.

And here we have us trying to recreate some fixing of the lip gloss.

Austin, Laura n' fam (and Rhett and Annie stuck around just before their date) also came to see Ally off, it was lots of funsies! We were sad that Anni, Trav and their girls couldn't make it because they were sickies and the parentals were out of town. But we had fun, and took lots o' pictures!

Thanks Ally going to homecoming so we could all hang out and tease you and check you out! Love you all!

Hard Day...

Our beloved dog Gus died today.
It was really hard
to say goodbye
to our best friend.
He has been part of our family
for over 17 years.
Lots of tears were shed.
I asked Heavenly Father
to take care of our Gus
and I know he's in a happier
place now.

I love the Apostles!

Tonight I went to a CES Fireside and Elder Richard G. Scott of the Twelve Apostles spoke. It was such a great talk and it made me so excited to be married one day. It made me especially excited for a special someone to come home from his mission. But it just mostly made me feel like a good marriage and family life are in reach. Good, happy, positive things in life ARE always possible. Hard stuff is going to happen, but it'll all work out.

I love the gospel and the principles of happiness that it teaches. I love life. It's good. :)

Homework Saturday

I'm being so productive...
or I'm trying to be.
I mostly would just
like a nap.
I think it's break time...
Yep.

Happiness comes in many forms...

in the form of:
  • weekends
  • cooler weather
  • long sleeves
  • 109 ish
  • making someone smile
  • being a friend
Also... I think this may be
the semester of LOVE
for some of my dearest friends.
It's SO much fun to watch.

LOVES...

chocolate

I hate it when...

I get food poisoning from possibly my favorite place to eat in the world.

:(

Sometimes I think in poems...

Not Perfect

You aren’t perfect,
But that’s ok.
You aren’t perfect,
But
I love you
Anyway.
Instead I love the things about
You
That aren’t so perfect.
I love the way your hair curls
All over wherever
It
Wants.
And how you love to be
Tickled even though you
Pretend you
Don’t like it
At all.
I love how
You think you’re so
Right
and
Often you are, but
Sometimes
You’re not,
I love watching you eat your
Words
Because you do
It so well.
I love that you love what
I love,
Except vegetables and
Wheat pasta and
You promise to never
Eat them.
Don’t worry, you’ll look
Good eating those too.
I love how your
Smile
Is just
A little bit
Crooked,
It warms my heart oh
So
Much.
I love when that crooked smile
And your squinty eyes
Look at me.
Because I can tell
That
You love me
And
Think I’m pretty perfect.
Even though,
I’m not.
You aren’t what I
Would have thought to have
Picked.
And you aren’t
Perfect.
But that’s ok
Because that’s why
I love you.

In over my head?

Maybe.
It's only the first of September and I'd like it to be December.
For a few reasons.
One being so school could be out.
I'll definitely learn a bunch this semester.
Whether it's from school work
Or
Trying to balance it all...
We shall see.
Maybe both.
Do me a favor.
Keep your fingers crossed
And
A little prayer in your heart
For us too busy college students.
Love,
Abbie
