Self-Discovery

I realized tonight that I'm not as terrible at Karaoke as I thought I was. It was actually pretty fun. I encourage you all to try it. See what happens when you stop worrying about silly things and give life a try, it's pretty sweet!
* I don't think this will change the fact that I'm a terrible bowler though. haha oh well, no for lack of trying.

Did I tell you?

I wrote Santa Claus early this year about my wish list.
I told him I only wanted one thing:
A boyfriend.
(with blue eyes, about 5'10", happy smile, quick wit, and fun humor, initials B.S.)

In response to my inquiry he said that
he could get me one, but that he'd
come 3 days late.

What could be better
than a little extra
Christmas 3 days after the fact?

Santa said he'd arrive in exactly
1 month
at 4:41 p.m.
at the St. George Airport.

Yes my friends, the countdown is ON!!

Sonnets are hard to write...

For my poetry class
we have to write either
a sestina, a villanelle or a sonnet.
I decided to try my hand at sonnet crafting today,
and it was tough.
I got three lines in and wanted
to cry a little bit.

I really struggle at coming up with end-rhymes
when I have a quota to meet for syllables.
Plus I haven't really felt very
poem-y(as Sally would say) lately.

Family Picatures!!

Getting ready,
the finishing touches :)
First picture:
throw the leaves so the grandkids look at the camera.
Leaves in picture.
Cute in a squinty kind of way.
New seating arrangements.
Cars in background and everyone's still squinting.
Let's try some smaller groups
The grandparents with the grandkiddies :)
Lovely!
The Copes. Aren't they SO cute?!
I love these little girlies!
The nieces and nephew, SO adorable.
I'm not even married
and these pictures are making me
baby hungry!
Getting into position, Tommy is such a good
big brother.
These two make my heart SO happy!!
Austin must've just said something funny and we're all laughing. I love it!
Hey we got a good one! Wahoo!
This makes my heart happy :)
I love my family
and
I love family photos :)
They rock and totally make the best memories.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thanksgiving was SO much fun this year!! We were excited to have lots of fun family come stay with us! We had the Lana and lovebirds: McKay and Marielle, Grandpa and Grandma Cordner...

Nicolson fam, Austin and Laura & Co., Annaca and Travis & Co., my fam, and our cute friend Lyndsie! It was quite the party! I'm thankful for my family!

* Not everyone is pictured because I stole my pictures from my uncle Dave, he takes the most fun pictures. He's always trying to catch us in the moment... which explains the picture of me sitting by the fireplace looking pensive. I was really trying to pretend I didn't know he was taking a picture of me. haha oops...:)

Haircut...

I cut it on Friday.
It was needed.
I probably could've kept it a bit longer for growing out purposes...
but where's the excitement in that?

I love being brave and chopping it.
I've gotten good feedback so far...
Feel free to express your opinion.
Long hair or short?

***Sorry about the self-taken photos, but I had to document the hairdo (bottom) and photobooth can be SO much more entertaining than studying (top).

Glad...

Even with all my strangeness...
I'm glad to be me.
That is all.

P.S. Check out the good-looking missionary in the front!!
He'll be home in T-41 days.
But I'm not counting. :)
This picture just cracks me up...
Have a lovely day!

Fun Photo Post!!

So I noticed my postings were lacking picture-idge, and since I have nothing new worth showing... I decided to show you what was up this time last year!
I'm blowing your mind right now, I know.

Here we are at DINNEY-LAND!!! Riding the Teacups!
I also spent some time in parking lots doing some frolicking.
I love good photo moments.
They make me smile.

How does one....

... ask the questions one wants answered?

... say what they mean?

... know what they mean when they say what they mean?

You know what I mean?

Food for thought.

Thinking about this today:

Oh, no, no. I was just wondering if you could help me find my way.

Well that depends on where you want to get to.

Oh, it really doesn't matter, as long as...

Then it really doesn't matter which way you go.

You won't get anywhere if you don't know where you're going.

Over-Analyzing

I'm really good at this. I should go into it. Perhaps it has something to do with my gender.
I'd just really like to get out my crystal ball about now.
Over-analyzing is crappy because it totally makes one feel like a middle schooler again,
and let's face it, who really liked middle school?
Ok some people really did, but I didn't.
It was when my "awkward stage" hit, and I bloomed, but not in a good way.
Ok, I'm done spouting off random ambiguous thoughts.
Sweet Dreams.

Question of the Day:

What should I do with my life?

*suggestions are welcome.

You'd think...

After 2.5 years in college I'd have the registration thing down. Turns out, I don't.

Transferring to a new school is not so much fun. Especially when their DANG website is RETARDED!!! I think they hate me. They don't want me to succeed.

I hate feeling lame trying to register. It's no fun at all.

I need to go to bed and stop thinking about it I think.

Hopefully things will look better in the morning.

I Voted.

Yes, I did.
And I'm proud of it.
We should all vote.
Our voices matter.
If no one speaks up,
who will?
One of my professors told us that if we don't vote, we don't have the right to complain.
He also told us about what the suffragettes went through to give women the right to vote.
Some were thrown into prison and treated beyond terrible.
I didn't want to let them down.
I'm proud to be an
American
Woman
that
GETS
to
VOTE.

Plus, who could pass up this sweet sticker?!

**Check out an excerpt from Iron-Jawed Angels here. It's a movie about some of the events that led to the passing of the 19th Amendment: Women's Right to Vote. Although it was shown on TV, this movie has some violent and disturbing images, viewer discretion is advised.

I don't enjoy blushing

So I'm in this creative writing class with an emphasis in poetry (explains my fascination with poetry lately), and we post poems online for group discussion. Last week in my frantic flurry to post on time I posted a poem that I felt, in my naivete, was just about grieving. Well apparently it can be interpreted more violently. I'm glad my peers give good feedback.
Yeah, it was a good blush moment. I didn't really enjoy it.

Time to fix some Abbie poetry.

Lesson for the day: Don't haphazardly post poetry in group discussion. It could be interpreted very differently than what you meant.
